At East Coast Sauces, we believe food should do more than just taste good—it should do good. That’s why one of our core missions is raising awareness about the reality of human trafficking, an issue that impacts communities everywhere, including right here in the United States. We are trying to shine Jesus' light on these heinous acts.
The Reality of Human Trafficking
In the U.S. alone, the National Human Trafficking Hotline receives thousands of calls each year from people reporting suspicious activity or seeking help.
Trafficking doesn’t just happen “somewhere else.” It’s found in cities, suburbs, and rural towns alike.
Nearly 27 million people are trapped in modern slavery worldwide today (source: International Labour Organization).
What You Can Do With This Light
Awareness is the first step. Traffickers often exploit vulnerabilities—like poverty, isolation, or lack of family support—to manipulate and control victims. Signs can include:
Someone who seems unusually fearful, anxious, or controlled by another person
A lack of identification documents or someone speaking for them
Working or living in poor, restricted, or unsafe conditions
